Temple of the Three Graces

The Temple of the Three Graces is a Neoclassical hunting lodge in Charvátská Nová Ves featuring twelve Ionic columns arranged in a horseshoe shape. The structure displays symmetrical arcades with Doric capitals and combines these classical elements with interior mosaic floors and painted wall decorations.

The structure was built between 1824 and 1825 under Prince Johann I of Liechtenstein, designed by architect Joseph Franz Engel. This construction period marked a time when classical design was favored for aristocratic estates across Europe.

The three statues inside represent the Graces from classical mythology, each holding symbolic objects from ancient traditions. Visitors can see how Greek and Roman themes shaped the decoration of this place.

The site can be reached via marked hiking trails from Břeclav, with access options from nearby towns and cities. Wearing comfortable walking shoes and checking local conditions beforehand will help make your visit more enjoyable.

Inside there is a room with mosaic stone flooring and painted walls that create the illusion of depth and space. This interior decoration is often overlooked by visitors but reveals the craftsmanship that was invested in this small structure.
