Zámek Návarov

Zámek Návarov is a Baroque château situated on elevated terrain overlooking the Kamenice River valley with distinct architectural features from the early Baroque period. The complex comprises multiple interconnected structures and a chapel that form a unified composition.

Baroness Maria Angela de Lamotte commissioned the main structures in the 17th century, establishing a substantial estate that reflected the architectural practices of her time. The Baroque design of the buildings shows the construction methods and tastes of this era.

The chapel within the castle remains a place of religious gathering, showing how faith was woven into the daily life of its noble residents. Visitors can see how this sacred space reflects the spiritual dimension of what was once a thriving estate.

The site is accessible via local roads, and the elevated location offers good views of the surrounding landscape from the grounds. Visiting is possible throughout the year, though warmer months provide more pleasant conditions for exploring the exterior.

The original grounds included a brewery and malt house, showing this was an economically self-sufficient estate rather than just a residence. Beyond the main buildings stood a hunting lodge and a landscaped park with a gazebo, features that enriched the daily life of its owners.
