Týnec

Týnec castle is a three-winged structure with symmetrical proportions centered around a main tower and topped with a mansard roof. The building displays characteristic baroque details including multiple dormer windows set across its exterior.

After the Thirty Years' War, the structure transformed from a military fortress into a residential palace, with only a handful of original rooms surviving. This shift reflected the transition from warfare to peaceful living.

The chapel holds 18th-century wall paintings showing religious scenes beneath its vaulted ceiling. These artworks reveal the faith and taste of the family who once lived here.

The castle has operated as a hotel and conference venue since 2007 and welcomes visitors. Daytime visits work best, and staff on site can guide you through the layout.

Next to the castle stands the Arminius House, built on the foundations of a former farm building. This adjacent structure links the property to the region's agricultural past.
