Zámeček Sluncová

Zámeček Sluncová is a two-story manor house in Karlín combining Neoclassical and Baroque design elements on its facade. The elongated building features rusticated corners, a hipped roof with two prominent roof pavilions, and is surrounded by a columned fence enclosing gardens, a chapel with grotto, a water reservoir, and a house built over a spring.

The estate was built under Bohuslav Jan Voříkovský from Kunratice, who acquired it between 1700 and 1723 and undertook significant modifications. The addition of a chapel during this period shows how the owner anchored religious life within the private grounds.

The chapel displays a blend of spiritual and worldly purposes, with its grotto creating an intimate space for private devotion within the manor grounds. This combination of worship and garden sanctuary reflects how the owner integrated religious life into the estate's daily rhythm.

The manor sits on elevated ground in the Karlín neighborhood and is relatively easy to explore from the outside, as the chapel and gardens surround the main building. Most areas can be viewed from the exterior, though interior access depends on current opening hours and available tours.

The chapel features a rare two-level design with separate entrances from different terraces, showing how private chapels in the 18th century offered multiple access points for different parts of the estate. This layout allowed different household members or visitors to use the space without necessarily crossing paths.
