K-S 14 U cihelny casemate

The K-S 14 U cihelny casemate is an underground fortification with two levels designed specifically for border defense operations. The structure contains multiple combat chambers and observation posts arranged to form an integrated defensive system.

The casemate was built between June and October 1936 as part of Czechoslovakia's extensive border defense system. It was constructed during a period of rising tensions in Europe and designed to protect the frontier against potential threats.

The exhibits reveal how people understood the importance of border protection during the 1930s and what this military presence meant for the nation. The displayed objects and photographs show how the structure reflected the concerns and hopes of citizens at that time.

Access is available through guided tours from April to October that explain how the facility operated. Visitors should expect tight spaces and dark corridors, and wearing sturdy shoes is recommended to navigate the stairs safely.

The structure has retained its original armaments, including five light machine guns, one heavy machine gun, and two 4cm anti-tank cannons. This preserved equipment makes the site an exceptional example of how such fortifications were actually armed and prepared for combat.
