Bezručovo údolí, Natural monument in Chomutov, Czech Republic.
Bezručovo údolí is a protected valley in the Ore Mountains spanning about 13 kilometers through varied landscapes. The Chomutovka River winds through the terrain, with elevations ranging from 380 to 850 meters as the valley rises toward the higher peaks.
The area was originally called Grundtal, named for its broad valley setting, before being renamed in 1947. The new name honors Czech poet Petr Bezruč as part of post-war cultural changes in the country.
Historic mills still stand in the valley and continue to serve as restaurants where visitors gather. These buildings show how the area once depended on water power and milling work.
Marked hiking and cycling trails run through the valley connecting various small communities and landmarks. The network offers multiple entry points and routes suitable for different fitness levels and time availability.
The valley contains several waterfalls and two reservoirs built in different periods. The water systems support a habitat for rare butterfly species that depend on the specific conditions found here.
