Rozhledna Čáp, Observation tower in Teplice nad Metují, Czech Republic

Rozhledna Čáp stands on the summit of Čáp, at 786 m the highest point of the Adršpašsko-teplické skály, on a rock block in the forest about 4 km southwest of Teplice nad Metují. The tower has a central steel column with a spiral steel staircase, eight main wooden posts on four footings, two above-ground levels and a sheet-metal roof; the viewing platform is reached by the spiral staircase.

The tower was built in 2014 and added a modern observation point to the mountainous landscape of northeastern Bohemia. Its construction was part of efforts to expand the tourism offerings in this scenic region.

The tower was opened on 20 September 2014 during the 25th edition of the Teplicko-adršpašská 33 hiking march, and that walk still passes the summit. The name Čáp ("stork") belongs to the 786 m hill itself, the highest point of the Adršpašsko-teplické skály. A trigonometric point, 16 Čapí vrch, is also marked on the summit.

The tower can be reached via marked hiking trails from Teplice nad Metují and is freely accessible throughout the year. Visitors should wear comfortable hiking shoes and note that the clearest views occur on days with good weather.

The tower was assembled on 9 September 2014 with the help of a helicopter, because the site in the Adršpašsko-teplické skály national nature reserve was hard to reach; concrete footings had been poured earlier. It opened on 20 September 2014 during the 25th Teplicko-adršpašská 33 walk. The summit also carries trigonometric point 16 Čapí vrch.
