Skryjský vodopád

Skryjský waterfall is a small cascade formation on the Zbirožský stream dropping 1.2 meters. The water flows over multiple steps and creates small pools as it moves through the area.

Over millions of years, water carved through layers of ancient basalt rock, forming the narrow valley that exists today. This geological process shaped the rocky gorge you see now.

The waterfall sits within a protected reserve where rare mosses and ferns cling to wet rock faces. These plants thrive in the constant spray and moisture, giving the area its distinctive green appearance.

Hikers reach the waterfall via marked trails from Podmokly village, though the final approach crosses rough ground and rock steps. Wear sturdy shoes with good grip, as the path can be slippery.

Secondary lava flows create the jagged appearance of the rocks surrounding the waterfall. These volcanic features remain visible beneath the moss and vegetation, revealing the dramatic geological story of the place.
