Pravoslavný chrám svatého Mikuláše v Mikulově, Orthodox church in Mikulov, Czech Republic
The Church of Saint Nicholas exhibits neogothic architecture with a four-sided tower adorned with special plaster decorations and brick cladding elements.
Originally constructed in 1903 for German Evangelicals, the church underwent transformation after World War II and became Orthodox in 1988 through sale to Brno Orthodox Church.
The interior features early Christian paintings by artist Joža Úprka, which were later restored by painter Nikos Armutidis following Orthodox traditions.
Located near the Mikulov railway station along the Brno-Vienna route, the church welcomes visitors throughout the week with flexible visiting hours by appointment.
The church houses a crystal crown chandelier from Harrachov glassworks, presented as a gift from Russian Tsar Nicholas II to the congregation.
