Church of Saint Martin, Modern church in Starý Poddvorov, Czech Republic

The Church of Saint Martin is a modern religious building in Starý Poddvorov, completed in 1994. The structure displays contemporary architectural features characteristic of its construction period.

Planning began in the mid-20th century and resumed after 1989, when a plot opposite the cemetery was chosen. Pope John Paul II blessed the foundation stone in Rome on 1 June 1991, and Ludvík Horký blessed the site that 5 September. The rough construction was finished in 1993 and the floor laid in 1994; Brno bishop Vojtěch Cikrle consecrated the church on 31 July 1994.

The church is a filial church of the Čejkovice parish, so it has no resident priest of its own. Its two bells hang in the tower: the larger, weighing 300 kg, bears the name of Saint Martin, the patron of the church, while the smaller weighs 150 kg.

The church stands on a plot opposite the cemetery in Starý Poddvorov, in the Hodonín district of the South Moravian Region. It is a filial church of the Čejkovice parish, so regular services are held here; check the parish schedule before visiting. The site was blessed on 5 September 1991 by Monsignor Ludvík Horký.
