Jindřichovice

Jindřichovice is a Gothic Revival castle located in the village of the same name within the Krušné hory mountains. The building sits on elevated ground above the village core and stands near the Church of St. Martin, with a stream running through the landscape below.

The castle was commissioned by Jan Hartvin in 1672 during the height of silver and lead mining in the region. This period brought economic growth to the Krušné hory area and drove the construction of important structures throughout the surrounding territory.

The castle shapes the village center and displays typical Gothic Revival features that became popular in the region during the 19th century. The architecture reflects the prosperity that mining brought to this part of the Krušné hory mountains.

The castle sits on elevated ground with good views over the village and is easily reached on foot. The location is also near the natural basalt formations of the Rotavske varhany, making the area interesting for longer exploration.

The castle and the neighboring church form a single historical complex together, representing the heart of village life. This close spatial relationship between secular and religious architecture is typical for mining villages of that period.
