The three-winged castle complex exhibits Gothic foundations with Renaissance and Baroque modifications, featuring an arcaded courtyard within its stone walls.
Originally built in the 14th century, the castle underwent major reconstruction in 1675 when builder de Guarde transformed it for Franz Maximilian Talmberk.
The Municipal Museum inside the castle presents exhibitions about the architectural and historical development of the Central Bohemian region.
Located 39 kilometers southeast of Prague, the castle offers partial access to visitors due to ongoing renovation works.
The castle gained additional recognition through its digital recreation in the Czech video game Kingdom Come: Deliverance, set in 1403.
