Museum Litovel

Museum Litovel is a regional museum in Litovel focused on local craftsmanship and traditions. The collection shows tools, products, and personal items that document how people in this area worked and lived.

The museum was founded in 1907 by Jan Smyčka and opened in 1920 at a location that was previously a shooting range. Building the collection reflected a desire to preserve local industrial and craft traditions for the future.

The exhibition shows craftsmanship from the first half of the 20th century and documents the local trades that shaped life in the region. Visitors can see today how these craftspeople worked and what products they made.

The museum is located on Smyčkova Street 795 in Litovel and is relatively easy to reach on foot from the town center. Visitors can contact the staff before a visit to ask about opening hours or special tours.

A special collection from 1911 includes gold coins discovered by a brickyard worker at Šibeník Hill near Uničov. This find shows how everyday work sometimes leads to forgotten treasures.
