Museum Litovel is a regional museum in Litovel focused on local craftsmanship and traditions. The collection shows tools, products, and personal items that document how people in this area worked and lived.
The museum emerged in the early 20th century as part of the Czech national emancipation movement in Litovel. In 1960 it was placed under the administration of the Vlastivědný ústav Olomouc and its collections were gradually transferred to Olomouc. After the 1997 floods the museum was abolished entirely, and the town renewed it in 2005.
The exhibition shows craftsmanship from the first half of the 20th century and documents the local trades that shaped life in the region. Visitors can see today how these craftspeople worked and what products they made.
The museum is located on Smyčkova Street 795 in Litovel and is relatively easy to reach on foot from the town center. Visitors can contact the staff before a visit to ask about opening hours or special tours.
The building's core is the curved remnant of a Gothic bastion from Litovel's town walls, later rebuilt in late Neoclassical style in 1872. A shooting emblem with two crossed rifles, a green-and-white flag and a powder horn is set into the east facade.
