Fojtství Jasenná, 18th-century heritage building in Jasenná, Czech Republic
Fojtství Jasenná is a wooden structure from the 18th century built on stone foundations with hand-carved fir tree trunks as its main support elements. The building features a traditional gallery and historically served as an administrative center, with workshops and mills that once operated on the property.
The structure was built in 1748 by Jiří Mikuláštík, continuing a family tradition of administration that started in 1663. Over time, the site became an important center of local authority and economic activity in the area.
The building reflects the crafts and skills that were important to people in this region, with furnishings and objects showing how daily life was organized. Visitors can see the spaces where work happened and understand what mattered to those who lived here.
Access to the site is currently limited due to restoration work that began in 2022 and is still ongoing. Before planning a visit, check what areas may be accessible and what conditions apply to touring the grounds.
A blacksmith workshop operated on the property until the late 1800s and was integral to local craft traditions. This specialized workshop eventually ceased operation as economic activities in the region shifted.
