Bažantnice

Bažantnice is a stone hunting lodge ruin nestled among trees near Loukov that once served the Czech nobility. The structure consists of deteriorated walls and foundations that still reveal the building's original form, though it has remained abandoned for a long time.

The structure was built in past centuries as a hunting lodge to provide the local noble family with a retreat during the hunting season. Over time it lost its importance and was eventually abandoned, surviving today only as a ruin within the woodland landscape.

This site reflects an old aristocratic practice where hunting grounds and lodges served as important gathering places for the local nobility. The connection between land ownership and hunting shaped the lifestyle of Czech nobility for many generations.

The site has been officially out of service since 2019 and is not open to the public. Visitors should expect only free, unrestricted views from outside, as no admission or organized tours are available.

Despite its deteriorated state, the ruin maintains its official status as a cultural monument and receives protection as a result. This recognition shows how important Czech authorities consider these historical remains for the nation's heritage, even though the site is no longer open to visitors.
