Holy Trinity column in Kroměříž

The Holy Trinity column in Kroměříž is a Baroque sandstone monument standing about 12 meters tall in the town's central square. Its design features multiple saint statues positioned around the lower sections and a crowned Trinity representation at the top.

The monument was built between 1724 and 1726 under sculptor Jan Sturmer's direction as a response to a severe plague that struck the town in 1715. Its construction was part of a widespread practice across the region of raising columns as expressions of gratitude for deliverance from disease.

The column displays statues of saints such as Wolfgang, Sebastian, and Francis Xavier arranged around its base. These figures reflect the blend of local and wider Catholic devotion that characterized the region during the Baroque period.

The monument is located on Riegrovo Square in central Kroměříž and is easily accessible on foot while exploring the town center. Visitors can view the column from all angles as they walk around the plaza.
