Chapel of Saint Florian in Kladno

The Chapel of Saint Florian is a Baroque structure with an oval interior design topped by a dome. Two towers frame the front facade, and a religious cross sits at the roof's peak.

Construction started in 1751 under the direction of a renowned Baroque architect. The project took over a century to complete due to funding interruptions and other building challenges.

The chapel displays artwork on its main altar created by a local artist of the 18th century. Side chapels contain paintings dedicated to other saints, reflecting the spiritual role this space played in the community.

This chapel sits near Kladno's main square and is easy to reach on foot from the town center. Visitors should know that regular religious services take place here, particularly on Sundays.

A burial ground for plague victims from the 17th century once surrounded this chapel. This cemetery served the local community for more than a century until it was closed.
