The building was constructed in 1875 to serve the growing grain production in the area. It stands as a record of the industrial changes that rural villages in South Moravia experienced in the late 1800s.
The mill kept two separate millstones: one 0.74 m across and 1.11 m across, turning at different rim speeds of up to 3.72 and 7.2 m/s. Its 15 m wind wheel drove them, and the internal machinery was dismantled after 1974 and taken to the Technical Museum in Brno.
Visitors should wear sturdy shoes since the path crosses agricultural fields that become muddy after rain. The best time to visit is during dry weather when the ground is more manageable.
