Church of Saint Catherine in Milovice, Catholic church in Milovice, Czech Republic

The Church of Saint Catherine is a single-nave Neo-Gothic building of white brick with cross bonding, built in 1906–1907. Its southeast front is dominated by a massive four-storey prismatic tower with a red pyramidal roof and a metal Latin cross. The nave has five windows per side, and the northwest end is closed by a five-sided presbytery with a small red-roofed sanctus turret.

The church was consecrated in 1907 after replacing an earlier building that was removed during the establishment of a military base in the area. The new structure arose to serve the changing needs of the growing population.

The interior walls display decorative work made by prisoners of war during the early 1900s. These hand-crafted details give the space a human quality that connects visitors to the people who once worshipped and worked here.

The church stands at the junction of Mírová and 5. května streets on the western edge of old Milovice, near the railway station. The cemetery lies 650 metres to the south, at the very edge of town. The entrance faces the village square through the four-storey tower.

The interior murals of 1915–1916 were painted by Polish prisoners of war under the painter Vincenc Klivinský, and the work is recorded in the parish chronicle Liber memorabilium parochiae Milovicensis. Such painted decoration is rare in the Central Bohemian Region.
