Milník, Milestone on the Líšnice–Studená Loučka forest path, Czech Republic
The milestone is a 1.70 m tall sandstone prism with beveled upper edges, standing on a stone platform built in 2004 beside the forest path from Líšnice to Studená Loučka. Its front face reads "1/8 Meil von Löschnitz" and its right side "2/8 Meil von Kalten Lautsch".
The stone dates from the 18th century and marked distances on the postal route between Olomouc and Prague. That road used the Austrian postal mile as its measurement system at that time.
The stone displays carved inscriptions showing distances to nearby places, revealing how travelers once measured their journeys. These marks reflect how people in this region tracked distances and found their way.
The stone is easily accessible from the main road through Líšnice and sits in gently rolling terrain. A short detour from the usual route is needed to visit the site.
