Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, Gothic and Baroque parish church in Konárovice, Czech Republic

The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross is a parish church with a tall pointed spire and rectangular main hall located in the center of Konárovice. The structure blends late Gothic features with Baroque modifications that shape its overall appearance and character.

The original church in Konárovice is documented in 1352 as a Gothic building, remodelled in the late Gothic style around 1500. A radical Baroque rebuilding followed between 1669 and 1683. In 1887–1889 the church was rebuilt in the pseudo-Gothic style, erasing the earlier architecture, and in May 1889 it was consecrated by Josef Jan Evangelista Hais, bishop of Hradec Králové.

The church serves as the community's spiritual center and has anchored village life for generations. On September 14, locals gather here to celebrate the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, a tradition that continues to shape the religious calendar of Konárovice.

The church stands in the village of Konárovice, in the Kolín District. The nave has a flat timber ceiling while the presbytery is covered by a neo-Gothic vault, and the tower is as wide as the presbytery. The building is a protected cultural monument of the Czech Republic, so visits depend on parish use.

The 1887–1889 pseudo-Gothic rebuilding erased the earlier architecture entirely; the church was consecrated in May 1889 by Josef Jan Evangelista Hais, bishop of Hradec Králové. The tower is as wide as the narrower, three-sided presbytery.
