The Church of Saints Philip and James is a single-nave Baroque building with chamfered corners, constructed entirely of red sandstone. A chapel and sacristy flank the presbytery, and the west facade is formed by a massive square tower topped with an onion dome and finial. The presbytery and nave have flat ceilings, while the space under the tower is vaulted with a cross vault; a wooden gallery in the west of the nave rests on richly carved columns.

The original church stood on a high hill in the lower part of the village and had its own priest by 1384; it was burned during the Hussite wars and later rebuilt. Because it was small and hard to reach in winter, a larger church was built in the centre of the village in 1739. A separate parish was established at the church in 1788.

The church is dedicated to Saints Philip and James, whose feast is celebrated together on 3 May. A separate parish was established at the church in 1788. The interior holds altars of Saint John of Nepomuk and Our Lady of Lourdes.

The site is accessible to visitors and located in the village of Roztoky u Jilemnice within the Semily District of the Liberec Region. Visiting during daylight hours allows you to better see the architectural details of the building.

The churchyard holds 19th-century tombstones carved by Antonín Sucharda of Nová Paka, including Antonín Mečíř's 1874 neo-Gothic marker and the Mečíř family tomb of 1880, where a 140 cm weeping angel leans on a tree trunk from which a cross grows.
