The Church of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist is a religious building with typical features of Czech church architecture, located in the central square of Starý Plzenec. The structure brings together exterior stonework and an interior prayer space designed for worship and community gatherings.

The church likely dates from the early 11th century and was probably founded by Přemyslid duke Jaromír, who established Starý Plzenec's second marketplace on today's square. In the second half of the 13th century it was rebuilt in early Gothic style; work on a very large church stopped abruptly, probably in 1266 when the Chotěšov monastery took over the patronage. After the Hussite wars the Kokořov family bought the town in 1561 and had the dilapidated building repaired.

The church holds a painting of Saint John the Baptist donated by the Kokořovci family, who bought Starý Plzenec in 1561 and became patrons, saving the decaying building. Inside is the tombstone of Bartoloměj Kokořovec with his coat of arms, dated 1591. The main altar, Rococo pulpit and Baroque altar of Saint Anne came from churches dissolved under Joseph II; an organ was installed in 1858.

The church stands on Masarykovo náměstí, the square where Jaromír established Starý Plzenec's second marketplace; the first was by the Church of the Virgin Mary. The building is a cultural monument listed since 1963, so visits focus on the exterior and the square rather than on guaranteed opening hours.
