Church of Saint Catherine, Romanesque church in Tetín, Czech Republic
The Church of Saint Catherine stands on a limestone cliff overlooking the Berounka River valley, featuring characteristic Romanesque architecture from the 13th century.
Built around 1200, this church marks the location where an earlier religious structure existed during the time of Saint Ludmila in the 10th century.
The church maintains its position as one of three religious buildings in Tetín, representing the deep religious heritage of this Central Bohemian settlement.
Visitors can reach the church by following marked trails from Beroun, with the site offering views of the surrounding karst landscape and river canyon.
The bell tower, added in 1858, stands separately from the main church structure and contributes to the protected cultural monument status.
