Church of Saint Anne, Catholic church in Škvorec, Czech Republic

Church of Saint Anne is a Catholic house of worship in the center of Škvorec featuring late Baroque architecture with a decorated main altar and tall windows. The interior is bright and organized with classic religious furnishings typical of its building period.

A Gothic church existed on this site by 1356. In 1755 Duchess Maria Theresia of Savoy, born Princess of Liechtenstein, decided to replace it; Tomáš Vojtěch Budil of Říčany drew the plans, costed at 6,804 gulden. The Seven Years' War halted work, Antonín Haffenecker produced a new design in 1764, and Václav Antonín Budil built the church in 1765–1767. It was consecrated on 15 November 1767.

The church serves as a central place for the Catholic community in Škvorec, hosting regular religious celebrations and gatherings throughout the year. Its position in the village center makes it a natural meeting point that locals recognize and pass by daily.

The church sits in the center of Škvorec, roughly 15 kilometers east of Prague, and is easy to reach on foot. As an active parish church, religious services and prayer times may affect visitor access to the building.

The tower once held a bell bearing a relief of the Virgin Mary with a sword in her breast. It was requisitioned by the Nazis during the Second World War, and in December 2001 a request for financial compensation was filed under an international agreement.
