The four-story Švehlova kolej exhibits a combination of Art Deco and Rondo-Cubism architectural elements, featuring characteristic arched designs throughout its exterior.
Built between 1923 and 1925 by architect Jan Chládek and builder Hilse, the dormitory emerged during the early years of Czechoslovakia's establishment.
The building includes a cinema that presents film screenings, adding an educational dimension to student life through regular cultural programming.
The facility provides 729 beds across single, double, triple, and quadruple rooms, with shared kitchens equipped with electric stoves and common bathrooms.
Sculptor František Uprka contributed detailed architectural elements to the building, which received cultural monument status from the Czech Ministry of Culture in 2004.
