Zdymadlo Rohatec, Navigation lock and weir on the Radějovka near Sudoměřice, Czech Republic

Zdymadlo Rohatec is a lock and weir structure on the Baťa Canal between Czech Republic and Slovakia. The facility controls water flow through a weir and a lock chamber that allows boats to navigate between different water levels on the canal.

The weir was put into service in 1938 with the opening of the Baťa Canal, to provide headwater for the Sudoměřice port with its coal tipper. A footbridge over the weir once linked the Czech and Slovak banks; it was replaced by two agricultural bridges. Construction of the lock began in August 2023 beside the weir, gate installation took place in February 2025, and the structure was completed in September 2025.

The weir has stood on the Radějovka since 1938, when it was built to hold back water for the Sudoměřice port with its coal tipper. The footbridge over the weir that once carried pedestrians and cyclists across the Czech-Slovak border has been replaced by two farm bridges. The lock chamber beside it entered trial operation on 19 September 2025.

The lock sits on the Radějovka at river kilometre 0.837, on the Czech-Slovak border in the Sudoměřice cadastre, 3.5 km west of the village centre. Trial operation began on 19 September 2025, with regular operation from the start of the 2026 season. The footbridge over the weir has been replaced by two agricultural bridges.
