Valtické podzemí, Wine cellar complex in Valtice, Czech Republic
The underground complex extends through 900 meters of connected tunnels, reaching depths of 11 meters below the surface and containing 13 distinct cellar spaces.
The cellars trace their origins to 1289 when Minorite monks established a monastery and contributed to the development of wine production in the region.
The underground halls regularly host traditional Czech music performances, featuring cimbalom bands that perform authentic regional songs every weekend during spring.
The entrance fee of 50 Czech crowns is refundable with wine purchases exceeding 100 crowns, and visitors can rent personal wine storage lockers for long-term use.
The facility maintains a temperature-controlled environment that creates perfect conditions for wine aging while accommodating up to 150 guests for special events.
