The Indonesian Jungle is a greenhouse pavilion at Prague Zoo that recreates tropical plant and animal environments within a climate-controlled space. The indoor setting mimics the warm, humid conditions found in Southeast Asian rainforests.
The pavilion was built between 2002 and 2004 as part of the zoo's expansion to house Southeast Asian species. This project reflected the facility's growing commitment to specialized habitats and wildlife conservation efforts.
The exhibit educates visitors about Indonesian biodiversity through educational displays and presentations focusing on rainforest conservation.
The interior space stays open year-round in a warm environment that offers relief during cooler months. High humidity levels mean visitors should wear light clothing and be prepared for condensation on cameras or glasses.
Prague Zoo remains the single facility in the Czech Republic maintaining smooth-coated otters, joining only ten institutions across Europe housing this species.
