Panoptikum, Public sculpture in Pilsen 1, Czech Republic

Panoptikum is a concrete sculpture in the Košutka district of Pilsen, known locally as the rabbit-eater or were-rabbit. Sculptor and ceramicist Adam Trbušek modelled it on Goya's painting Saturn Devouring His Son, installed in 2015.

The concrete sculpture was installed in 2015 in Košutka, making it one of the first sculptures placed in Lochotín after 1988 according to the district mayor. In 2018 residents voted on whether to keep it: of 7,000 voters, 56% were in favour. When the lease expired in 2020, the Plzeň 1 district held a second ballot and citizens again chose to retain it. It was fully restored in 2023 after repeated vandalism.

Locals call the concrete rabbit králíkožrout (rabbit-eater), králíkodlak (were-rabbit) or lidožravý králík (man-eating rabbit), after Adam Trbušek's sculpture inspired by Goya's Saturn Devouring His Son. In a 2018 poll of 7,000 residents, 56% voted to keep it, and Plzeň 1 held another vote in 2020 when the lease expired.

Panoptikum stands in Košutka, in the Plzeň 1 district, not in the historic centre. The concrete rabbit has been repeatedly vandalised, including in 2025 when it was repainted with hooked crosses, so its appearance may differ from photographs. It is an outdoor public sculpture with no opening hours.

The sculpture is nicknamed králíkožrout (rabbit-eater), králíkodlak (were-rabbit) and lidožravý králík (man-eating rabbit). Adam Trbušek modelled it on Goya's painting Saturn Devouring His Son, so the concrete rabbit is shown eating a human figure. In 2025 it was repainted with swastikas.
