Kaple svatého Kryštofa u Velkého Vrbna na Paprsku

The wooden chapel dedicated to Saint Christopher stands near the mountain lodge Paprsek in a mountainous region where three mountain ranges meet. The structure is built entirely from wood in a simple log construction style.

The chapel was completed in 2009 based on architect Jan Pospíšil's design, replacing an earlier house of worship that had stood in this location. Its bell dates back to 1925.

Inside, paintings depicting the Stations of the Cross created by Dita Štěrbová using reverse glass painting techniques decorate the walls. The artwork brings a personal artistic touch to the simple wooden space.

The chapel sits in a mountain setting and welcomes visitors exploring the surrounding area. Since the wooden structure is exposed to the elements, it is best to visit during fair weather or dress warmly.

The wooden benches inside come from a church in Vidnava and were relocated to this chapel. The bell originates from a former settlement called Grund Messinghammer that no longer exists.
