Dalimilova rozhledna, Observation tower in Staré Město, Czech Republic

Dalimilova rozhledna is an observation tower on Větrov hill at 918 m near Velké Vrbno, part of Staré Město pod Sněžníkem. It consists of two adjoining cylindrical towers of cast concrete and stone: the taller reaches 33 m with a viewing platform at 28 m, the lower has a platform at 17 m. A wooden-clad mountain-chalet building with refreshment, shop and accommodation spaces is attached.

This tower was built between 2019 and 2021 and recreates a former structure called the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Turm that stood on Králický Sněžník mountain from 1899 until 1973. The recreation honors the memory of this earlier landmark and restores a familiar silhouette to the mountain landscape.

The tower is named after local businessman JUDr. Dalimil Mika, who funded the replica. It recalls the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Turm, built in 1899 on Králický Sněžník as a memorial to Emperor Wilhelm I, which stood until its 1973 demolition. The opening on 9 July 2021 fell exactly 122 years after the original tower's opening.

The tower is reachable via marked hiking trails starting from Staré Město, with parking available at Velké Vrbno about 1.5 kilometers away. The climb involves ascending many steps, so visitors should be in reasonable physical condition to reach the upper viewing platforms.

The opening on 9 July 2021 fell exactly 122 years after the original tower on Králický Sněžník was inaugurated in 1899. The replica was financed by local businessman JUDr. Dalimil Mika, after whom the tower is named, and in March 2022 it won the public poll "Rozhledna roku 2021" held by the Klub přátel rozhleden.
