Brouk, Public sculpture at BB Centrum in Prague, Czech Republic
The Brouk sculpture depicts a Porsche 911 impaled on a giant pin, measuring seventeen meters in height and eight meters in length.
David Cerny created this monumental installation in April 2020 as part of the Passerinvest Group's initiative to enhance public spaces through art.
The name Brouk, meaning beetle in Czech, references both the Volkswagen Beetle and the practice of pinning insects in entomological collections.
The sculpture performs movement sequences every forty-five minutes between 6:00 AM and 11:00 PM, with each performance lasting six minutes.
The installation features eleven hydraulically controlled segments that create motion effects, finished in an opalescent color resembling insect wings.
