Husův sad

Husův sad is an urban park in Moravská Ostrava with green lawns, winding paths, and a Neo-Gothic chapel nestled among mature trees. The space links several nearby streets while providing open greenery in the heart of the neighborhood.

The site began as a cemetery in the 17th century before becoming a public park in later years. A chapel was built around 1900 as a memorial connected to the area's transformation.

The park bears the name of Jan Hus, the Bohemian reformer who shaped Czech religious thought. Memorials throughout the grounds tell stories of local and national significance.

The park sits centrally with easy access to bus stops, schools, and surrounding streets for pedestrians. The pathways are straightforward to navigate and it serves as a practical passage through the neighborhood.

One wall section features a special coating that breaks down harmful substances through sunlight exposure. This scientific application is an unexpected addition to a traditional public green space.
