Museum in Šenov

The Museum in Šenov holds a collection of glass objects spanning from the 17th century to the present day, showing how the craft has evolved over time. The exhibition includes double-walled cups, crystal articles, and recent artistic works created by manufacturers in the area.

The museum was founded in 1923 and initially occupied different locations before moving in 1968 to a classicist building. This building had previously functioned as a glass trading center, preserving the area's commercial history with the material.

The museum reflects the region's long tradition of glassmaking through works displayed by local artisans who continue this craft today. You can observe how handmade techniques and contemporary art coexist in the exhibition spaces.

The museum is open from Tuesday through Sunday and easy to locate since it occupies a distinctive classicist building. Browsing through the rooms typically takes one to two hours depending on your interest in the displayed objects.
