Rukávečská obora

Rukávečská obora is a game reserve situated between Orlická Dam and Milevsko in the Czech Republic. The area contains forests, meadows, and water features, with a regional road crossing through the middle.

The reserve was established in the second half of the 17th century to protect deer populations from overhunting. This allowed wildlife damage in surrounding areas to be managed more effectively.

A hunting lodge called Tyrolský dům from 1814 stands as a protected cultural monument within the reserve. The building reflects the long tradition of hunting activities that shaped how people have used this land.

Visitors can enter the reserve for mushroom and blueberry picking, but access is closed from October through December. This closure protects pregnant wildlife during a sensitive period.

The southern section protects a natural monument featuring acidophilic beech forests with distinctive plant composition. These specialized woodland types are uncommon in the region and showcase specific ecological conditions.
