Watchtower Vodojem Bohumín, Water and observation tower in Nový Bohumín, Czech Republic
This 39-meter concrete tower features eight levels and a glass viewing platform situated at 31 meters above ground level.
Built in 1934 as a water storage facility, the tower underwent renovation and opened to visitors in 2006 with new observation functions.
The tower stands as a symbol of industrial architecture transformation, connecting the past water management system with modern tourism purposes.
Visitors need to climb 187 steps to reach the observation deck, which provides views of Bohumín, the Dětmarovice Power Station, and Beskydy mountains.
The structure contains a meteorological station that supplies weather data while functioning as a guesthouse with an incorporated café.
