Rozhledna Holedná, Observation tower in Jundrov district, Brno, Czech Republic.
Rozhledna Holedná is an observation tower made of steel in the Jundrov district with a height of around 35 meters (115 feet) and an observation platform at approximately 34 meters (112 feet). The structure is accessed by an internal staircase with about 208 steps that spirals upward to the top.
This tower opened in December 2020 after three years of planning and was approved through a participatory voting process where Brno residents chose to fund its construction. The project reflected growing community interest in new vantage points across the city.
The observation tower represents a continuation of the Czech tradition of building lookout points, becoming the highest such structure in Brno.
Access to the tower is free throughout the year and you can climb the stairs whenever you visit. The ascent is possible regardless of weather, so you can enjoy views of the surrounding area in most conditions.
The original design called for a wooden structure about 20 meters tall, but drone surveys revealed that trees would eventually block views of the city. This discovery led planners to completely redesign the project as a taller steel tower instead.
