Stezka Českem, Dálková turistická trasa vedená převážně po hraničních pohořích České republiky
Stezka Ceskem is a long-distance hiking route that crosses the entire country and connects many different landscapes. The trail passes through national parks, mountains, water basins, and fields while clear signposts guide hikers through forests, open areas, and past villages with old buildings, castles, and ruins.
The trail was developed by volunteers who work with the Czech Tourist Club to maintain the route and support hikers. This grassroots, non-profit project emerged from a passion for the Czech landscape and offers walkers a way to explore the country while becoming part of an active hiking community.
The name Stezka Ceskem means "path through Czechia" and reflects how the route connects to the country's land and communities. Hikers pass through old villages and towns where local buildings, streets, and daily rhythms show how people here have lived for generations.
The route is marked with signposts and can be planned using an official app and website that provide detailed maps and waypoints. Hikers can choose flexible sections, stay overnight in huts, guesthouses, or tents, and often receive encouragement and refreshments from local helpers called Trail Angels along the way.
An active online community of hikers shares stories, tips, and advice through social media and a Facebook group called Stezka Ceskem, where experienced walkers help newcomers find their way. A popular e-book about the trail offers practical advice and inspiring stories from people who have already walked it.
