Soubor mostů v Poříčí, Railway bridge group in Poříčí, Czech Republic
The bridge group in Poříčí consists of two steel railway bridges that cross each other at different heights. The upper bridge uses solid girders, while the lower one is built with a truss frame structure.
The first bridge was built in 1868 to enable the railway line from Malé Svatoňovice to Poříčí. The second bridge was added around 1908 to connect the line toward Trutnov with the one toward Teplice nad Metují.
The bridges show how the region expanded its transport routes in the early 20th century. They stand as a reminder of how vital railways were for connecting the towns around them.
The best viewing spot is from road II/301, which runs underneath both bridges. From there you can clearly see how the two structures cross and their different heights.
The two bridges cross directly above the Petříkovický stream, creating a three-level transport crossing with the road beneath. This arrangement is unusual and shows a clever way to fit multiple transport routes into one location.
