Rozhledna Žaltman, Observation tower in Radvanice and Velké Svatoňovice, Czech Republic.
Rozhledna Žaltman is an observation tower in the Jestřebí Mountains that rises approximately 23.5 meters with four viewing platforms at around 740 meters elevation. A staircase of roughly 120 steps runs through the interior, allowing visitors to reach each level of the structure.
An original tower built in 1967 once stood at this location before being demolished in 2019 to make way for a new structure. The current steel construction was completed in 2020, providing views across the surrounding mountain landscape since then.
The tower stands near former mining sites and military fortifications, representing the industrial and defensive heritage of the Jestřebí Mountains.
Visitors can reach the location via marked hiking trails with blue and green blazes that wind through forest areas. Entry to the tower is free year-round, making it accessible for visits at any time of year.
A Mi-8 helicopter transported the heavy steel components to the mountain summit during assembly, as road transport was not feasible. This remarkable feat of logistics remains unknown to many visitors who use the structure today.
