Věžový bytový dům s vodojemem

The Věžový bytový dům s vodojemem is a 14-story residential building with an integrated water storage facility at the top in Nová Ulice. The structure combines 62 apartments with a water supply system within a tall concrete tower.

The building was completed in 1973 by architect Petr Brauner and combined residential space with water storage in an innovative way. Its construction reflected a new approach to integrating city infrastructure directly into apartment towers.

The building shows how architects of the post-war era combined homes and essential infrastructure in a single structure. This practical approach was typical of how construction evolved in Czechoslovakia during that time.

The building is clearly visible from the street and its structure can be easily observed from the surrounding area. Visitors can view the design and the water storage tanks at the top from ground level.

Inside the building are two separate water chambers positioned at the top in a special arrangement to balance weight during water discharge. This engineering solution prevents vibrations and stress on the structure during daily operation.
