Dom Bohumila Hrabala w Pradze, Former residential building in Libeň district, Prague, Czech Republic
The three-story building at Na Hrázi 24 street contained multiple apartments arranged around an inner courtyard with access through a former blacksmith workshop.
Czech writer Bohumil Hrabal lived in this building with his wife Eliška Plevová from the 1950s until 1973, creating many of his literary works there.
The building served as a gathering place for artists and intellectuals, with Hrabal often hosting informal wedding ceremonies and literary discussions in his apartment.
The building was demolished in 1988 to make way for Prague's metro line B tunnel construction, and a retaining wall with a mural now marks the location.
The street name Na Hrázi Věčnosti, meaning 'On the Embankment of Eternity,' was personally promoted by Hrabal during his residence there.
