Vodárenská věž Děvín

Vodárenská věž Děvín is a functional structure composed of three steel tubes connected in a triangular formation and clad with blue and yellow metal panels alongside glass elements. The construction houses pump systems for water pressure regulation and telecommunications equipment serving the city's infrastructure needs.

The structure was completed in 1977 during Prague's post-war modernization period. It stands on the site of the medieval Divci Hrady fortifications, marking an industrial transformation of the location.

The tower displays the functional design language of the 1970s through its distinctive triangular steel frame and mixed cladding materials. Visitors can observe how engineering structures became accepted as regular urban features during this modernist period.

The tower is located in the Radlice district and remains visible from various points across the city, aiding navigation to the site. Visiting the grounds requires no special preparation, though access to the interior may be restricted.

Specialized pendulum systems installed in the upper section of the tower counteract lateral movements caused by strong winds. This engineering detail reveals how designers addressed the physical challenges of such extreme height.
