Rozhledna Čestice

The observation tower in Čestice is a 40-meter steel structure that combines telecommunications equipment with a public viewing platform. The platform sits about 7 meters above ground and is reached by climbing 35 steps.

The structure was completed in December 1999 as a joint effort between telecommunications infrastructure and public recreation needs. This project exemplifies an approach of making functional towers also accessible to visitors.

The tower offers views that reveal how the local landscape is organized, with farmland, forests, and distant hills forming the traditional pattern of the region. From the platform, visitors can see how the village sits within this wider terrain.

The tower is easy to reach by following the road next to the church in Čestice, which leads to a field path with parking available. The climb to the platform is relatively short and just requires proper footwear.

The structure provides a half-circle panoramic view of the surrounding countryside while simultaneously operating as an active transmitter station. This dual function makes it an interesting example of combining infrastructure with public access.
