The Třeboňsko House of Nature

The Třeboňsko House of Nature is an education center located within Třeboň Castle, featuring multiple exhibition rooms that display regional ecosystems. The spaces present the diversity of freshwater systems, wetlands, and forests found throughout the Třeboňsko landscape.

The center was established in 2010 as part of a national education network. It honors the legacy of medieval fish pond builders who transformed the landscape by creating the distinctive water systems that define the region today.

The exhibition 'Landscape and People' connects visitors with local traditions through displays of fish ponds, peatlands, and river landscapes. You can see how communities have shaped and lived with this natural environment over time.

The center is located near the castle and is open daily during the season, with information available in multiple languages. The exhibitions are easy to navigate and accessible to visitors of all ages.

The entrance features a wooden installation called 'The Old and New River' that simulates how water flows through the protected landscape. This interactive display helps visitors understand the relationship between water management and the region's natural character.
