Castle park in Třeboň

Castle park in Třeboň is a sprawling green space with winding paths surrounding the castle and connecting different sections planted with native and exotic trees. Water channels run throughout the grounds and shape the layout of the pathways and planted areas.

The park began in the early 17th century when Peter Vok of Rosenberg transformed marshland into designed gardens. A wooden pavilion was built as a venue for gatherings, setting the pattern for how the grounds have been used ever since.

The park serves as a gathering place where locals enjoy outdoor concerts and seasonal celebrations that mark the rhythm of community life. Visitors will see families and residents treating the grounds as an extension of their daily routines.

The paths are well-maintained and clearly marked for easy navigation throughout the grounds. Plan your walk in comfortable shoes, as the terrain has slopes and some routes run through open areas with limited shade.

At the castle courtyard entrance stands an unusual maple tree with two trunks growing from a single base. Near the outlet of Svět pond grows a white willow of remarkable size that stands out from other trees in the grounds.
