Lašská naučná stezka Štramberk, Educational trail system in Štramberk, Czech Republic.
The Lašská naučná stezka Štramberk is a circular marked trail with 13 educational stops scattered throughout the town and surrounding landscape. Each station features information panels about the local geology, fossils, archaeological finds, plants, and wildlife.
Local authorities and natural science experts created the trail between 2002 and 2003 to showcase the region's natural and cultural heritage. A renovation in 2013 updated the path and its educational content.
The trail takes its name from the local area and weaves together the community's relationship with its natural and musical heritage. Visitors encounter plaques honoring local composers and discover spots where rare orchids grow along the route.
The trail is marked with white triangles with diagonal stripes and can be started from the train station or the primary school parking area. The route is roughly 6 kilometers long and requires comfortable footwear since you will want to stop and read the information panels.
The path climbs to Bílá hora, a hilltop offering expansive views across the region, where rare orchids thrive near the Plaňava area. These plants are a special highlight for nature lovers and reveal the botanical diversity that makes the landscape distinctive.
