Built around 1847, the plantation house belonged to George Washington Sullivan Sr, who served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 1862 to 1864.
The property exemplifies the architectural preferences of wealthy Southern landowners during the pre-Civil War period when brick construction was uncommon in upcountry regions.
Located 2.5 miles south of Hickory Tavern along South Carolina Highway 101, the plantation house occupies approximately 4 acres of land.
