Coki Beach, Caribbean beach in Saint Thomas, United States Virgin Islands.
Coki Beach is a sandy beach on the northeast coast of Saint Thomas, in the United States Virgin Islands. The water stays shallow close to shore, the sand is light-colored, and the beach sits right next to Coral World Ocean Park.
The beach was once a quiet stretch of coast used mainly by local residents before tourism grew on Saint Thomas. In 2011, a boardwalk and bathhouse were added, making access easier and more comfortable for visitors.
Local vendors sell Caribbean food, fresh seafood, and fruit drinks made from island recipes right along the shoreline. The food stalls and beach bar draw both locals and visitors throughout the day.
Snorkeling gear, beach chairs, and umbrellas can all be rented directly on the beach, and dive instructors offer guided tours in the water. Arriving early in the morning usually means fewer people and calmer conditions along the shore.
Because the beach sits directly next to Coral World Ocean Park, visitors can snorkel in open water and then walk over to the park's aquariums in the same visit. This combination of wild sea and managed marine exhibits is found nowhere else on the island.
